Are you struggling to achieve balance?

You are curious about others and the world around you.  But with that curiosity comes a sense of great responsibility.   Maintaining balance can be difficult and it’s possible to lose yourself in the process.  How long has been since you focused on you? Maybe you find yourself struggling to enjoy the connections and relationships you have even feeling burdened at times with little time just to focus on you.

Life can bring all kinds of changes, some good, some unexpected and some difficult. While you are embracing your life, it sometimes seems like managing everything that is important to you is overwhelming and there simply is no time for you. Maybe you are not taking “YOU” seriously enough.  It can be hard to identify what you need or practice self-compassion, especially when there are so many competing demands. But choosing not to try to show up for everyone every time doesn’t feel like an option.

While you are not a person to sit down let things you do not agree with just happen – sometimes it just feels like more stress than you can hold. Your relationships are shifting, sometimes without notice.  So many important people and relationships, everyone is counting on you – saying no feels impossible.  Maybe you’re noticing that you are not enjoying yourself as much these days.

Reconnecting with YOU…

We live in a complex, contradictory and sometimes painful world.  Sometimes in trying to give to everyone, you cannot give as much to the relationships that are the most important – much less to yourself!  You are not broken and you are doing your best to navigate your connections and personal values.  My goal is to understand your issues in the context of your unique experience rather than a pathological perspective.

I can’t wait to meet you and learn about who you are and what is important to you.  As a therapist I am intuitive and collaborative.  I want to hear you and understand your story.     I don’t know the answers for you, but our sessions are a safe place for us to find them together.  By partnering with you, you find yourself supported in making the changes you want.  You can live a fulfilling life, with strong connections, all while taking care of you.

More About Me

My background with corporations has allowed me to gain unique insights into the way systems and institutions can impact mental health. Working in corporate recruiting I have supported individuals through life transitions and brought these insights as well as my training in clinical psychology. The ability to merge insights from the corporate world and the psychological one allows me to remain pragmatic and open-minded in my approach to our sessions.

My clinical work has also given me experience with spiritual trauma, family issues, complex trauma, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, substance abuse and maintenance of sobriety. I work under the supervision of Erin Johnston, MSW, LCSW.

My personal journey has been a winding road, with time spent abroad and exploring a variety of arts practices. Today I love to swim, practice yoga and paint. Not only do these outlets allow me to remain grounded and open-hearted but they have provided me with a path for connection to many clients.

I am currently accepting new clients. I look forward to talking with you, please contact me and schedule an appointment. My practice is limited to telehealth, and I am open to working with anyone in the state of Illinois. Sessions are conducted via a secure HIPAA compliant video call platform.  Contact me to get started.
