Live Authentically…
You are someone who wants to live a full and authentic life, but something is getting in the way. Often, what seems so clear in theory is hard to put into practice. Life can sometimes overwhelm our capacities to cope. In those times, it takes bravery to reach out for support. I’m glad you’re here. Together we will investigate the barriers to your progress, cultivating an exciting future full of possibilities.
You are the expert of your own experience. You have spent your life both surviving and thriving in different contexts. I am here to bear witness to your story and provide a framework to understand your past patterns to inform a more intentional future. You are resilient, capable, and not willing to settle for the status quo. Your reluctance to fit the mold may complicate things, but it’s worth it.
Let’s celebrate you.
I want to hear what you have to say and learn about what is important to you. My goal is to empower you to be an agent of change in your own life, cultivating your true self and unearthing the innate resources to navigate your ever-changing life wholeheartedly.
Our meetings are collaborative, safe spaces where you can openly discuss difficult topics as well as celebrate your successes. You set the pace for our work, and I follow your lead. We process your thoughts and feelings while building skills to better cope with distress. We explore the ways power, privilege, and oppression affect you; and how you impact and interact with those around you.
I look forward to working with you!
More About Me
Holding a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Southern Connecticut State University, I have spent the majority of the last decade engaged in social service work or study, serving many different populations, including families, parents, at-risk youth, people experiencing homelessness, and LGBTQ+ individuals.
It is my mission to seek out opportunities to work with and empower LGBTQ+ people. As a transmasculine and non-binary therapist, I am particularly drawn to working with trans and gender non-conforming folx. My clinical experience has given me a diverse skill set and equipped me to treat a broad range of presenting issues. For some, the focus in therapy will be space between who you are and who you want to be. Others prefer a therapist with shared life experience to discuss their mental health struggles. I am open to it all.
I have an enduring commitment to creating a safe, affirming space for LGBTQ+ folx, where individuals can develop their unique narratives and prioritize their mental health goals. Through a compassionate and affirming lens, I focus on increasing feelings of self-worth and self-efficacy by empowering people to work through conflict. I take a feminist, strengths-based, trauma-informed, intersectional approach to all the care I provide.
I affirm all genders, races, ethnicities, sexualities, and faiths.
I am currently accepting new clients. I look forward to talking with you, please contact me and schedule an appointment. My practice is limited to telehealth, and I am open to working with anyone in the state of Illinois. Sessions are conducted via a secure HIPAA compliant video call platform.
