Are you feeling stuck? The truth is, most everyone has felt stuck at one time or another. It doesn’t feel good, that is for sure. It can be hard to access the necessary tools to become “unstuck” when you are feeling confused, overwhelmed, or unsure of which way to turn or how you are really feeling.
As your therapist, I will help you rediscover your tools, and maybe teach you some new ones along the way to help you become “unstuck”. I believe you are the expert in your life and I want to help you overcome the obstacles you are facing and get back on your path towards living the best and most fulfilling life for you.
My clients are individuals, couples, and families who recognize that they are stuck and want to create change. What they have been doing just isn’t creating the results they want to see. I can help you move forward. I will work as your partner in this process, and together we will clarify your goals, determine solutions and break down barriers that prevent you from having the life and relationships you want. My clients have shared that they like my interactive style, my ability to understand and listen, and that I challenge them to work towards making changes we explore together during our sessions.
I believe often, people seek therapy due to a relational context that either causes distress or creates the need for self-reflection. This can be due to a family or significant other relationship, or even the impact of a professional relationship with a boss or coworker, for example. I am trained to look at things from a relational perspective. I am able to work with multiple people at once, such as working with a family or relationship unit, or I am able to work with you on an individual basis in terms of how you are impacted by social or relationship distress or conflict.
For those seeking family or couples therapy, my “client” is the relationship. Instead of taking a side, we focus on what is going to work for your particular relationship. We modify patterns of interaction that have developed over time and are negatively impacting the relationship. I work with all types of couples, including those who are married, engaged, dating, or who are divorced or contemplating separation and are wanting help in navigating co-parenting.
Additionally I have a special interest in working with therapists who are seeking their own therapy, in addition to providing clinical supervision for therapists and pre-licensed therapists.
If you are ready to get started, please contact me and schedule an appointment. You can email me directly firstname.lastname@example.org or call me at 312-809-7017.
I have over 16 years of clinical experience in a variety of settings working with adolescents, adults, individuals, and couples. My specialized training includes a focus on couples and family therapy including Gottman Method Couples Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Solution Focused Therapy. Although through my experience and training I can help you through a variety of concerns, my specialties are working with those encountering mood disorders (such as depression or bipolar disorder), anxiety, relationship difficulties, and those aiming to get “unstuck” and who seek exploration of a new path to living a fulfilling life.
Identifying that you are ready to see a therapist is the first step. Making an appointment to get started towards developing solutions and living the life you desire is the next step. I look forward to partnering with you on this journey.
Ingrained in my work is a belief best stated by Carl Bard: Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.
